THE Book of Jubilees is a Jewish apocalyptic text that was well known to the early Church.
While not considered to be inspired, Jubilees contains fascinating details not found in Scripture. For instance, in chapter 3, the date of the fall of mankind is given:
“In the second month, on the seventeenth day, the serpent came and approached the woman, and the serpent said to the woman, 'Hath God commanded you, saying, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’” (Jub. 3:17).
THE Book of Jubilees is a Jewish apocalyptic text that was well known to the early Church.

If Jubilees is correct about the date of the Fall, it would explain why God later sent the Flood, the judgment against the corrupted world, on the same date:
“On the seventeenth day of the second month, all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened” (Gen. 7:11).
Taking it a step further, if the Fall occurred on the 17th, leading to the Flood on the 17th, one could reason that the redemption of man, via the resurrection–rapture, might also occur on the 17th.
The Rapture occurring on the anniversary of the Fall, which is also the anniversary of the Flood, would add meaning to Jesus’ statement, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man” (Matt. 24:37).
ASTRONOMICAL COINCIDENCE
While researching the above connections, I happened upon a seemingly related astronomical alignment. Seven days prior to this year’s Flood anniversary, on Cheshvan 10, an asteroid named “6461 Adam” entered the belly area of Virgo, the first constellation of the Zodiac, which is associated with birth and new beginnings (Rev. 12). Significantly, this alignment will not occur again until 2032.
Furthering the Flood and new-beginnings themes, asteroid Adam was discovered at the beginning of a Sabbatical week (1993), during Cheshvan, the month of Noah’s Flood.
But the most striking thing about asteroid Adam is that when we add the numbers assigned by the International Astronomical Union (6 + 4 + 6 + 1), they amount to 17—the date of Adam’s fall and Noah’s flood.
OTHER CORRELATIONS
Adding to the eschatological intrigue around the 17th are various other correlations:
• Noah’s Flood, which began and ended on the 17th, is by itself a clear foreshadowing of man’s redemption at the Rapture: https://tinyurl.com/5ctw45uv
• Joseph was age 17 when he was sold into slavery in Egypt, echoing how in Jubilees, humanity was ‘sold into bondage’ on the 17th.
• Jesus, the “head” of the Church, was resurrected on the 17th, making it a logical date for the “body” of believers to be resurrected.
• From Jesus’ resurrection on Nisan 17, to the Church’s conceivable resurrection on Cheshvan 17, is 7 months, denoting completion or a perfect period of time.
• Jacob lived in Egypt, a picture of the corrupted world, for 17 years, before passing on to be with the Lord (Gen. 47:28).
• 17 is the 7th prime number.
• 17 is the sum of the two perfect numbers, 10 and 7, signifying double perfection.
• The 10th day of the 7th month, or “17,” is when the Jubilee, or year of redemption, is declared (Lev. 25:9, 10).
• Jeremiah paid 17 shekels for a field, because the year of redemption was near (Jer. 32:10).
• 17 is a factor of 153, the number of fish who were “caught up” and brought to the Lord (John 21).
• Cheshvan 17 is when the UN, the organization whose “peace-and-security” motto portends the Day of the Lord, was founded (1 Thess. 5:3).
• Cheshvan 17 is when the Sun, a symbol of Jesus the Bridegroom, is in the constellation Libra, the Scales that signify the price of redemption (Ps. 84:11; 19:5).
• The date of mankind’s fall appears in verse 17: “In the second month, on the seventeenth day, the serpent came and approached the woman…” (Jub. 3:17).
• The rapture–redemption is described in verse 17: “We who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thess. 4:17).
Finally, it is interesting to note that according to the biblical chronology, Adam died as a consequence of the Fall 930 years after Creation, which is 726 years before Noah’s Flood in 1656 AM. That there are 726 years between Adam and the Flood is significant because Strong’s #726 in the Greek New Testament is the word harpazó, which is translated “caught up” in the Bible’s rapture verse (1 Thess. 4:17). Thus, via the chronology in Genesis, we have a connection between the Fall, the Flood, and the Rapture.
SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION
According to Jubilees, the fall of mankind occurred on the 17th, the date that God later sent the Flood.
Since Jesus compares His coming to the “days of Noah,” it is conceivable that the redemption of man could also occur on the 17th.
The redemption occurring on the 17th is supported by numerous biblical types, including the Flood itself, and the resurrection of Jesus.
With the Fall/Flood/Redemption correlations in view, it is significant that 7 days prior to this year’s Flood anniversary, Cheshvan 17, an asteroid named Adam, whose identifying number adds up to 17, entered the belly area of Virgo, the constellation associated with birth and new beginnings.
Having shown how Cheshvan 17 is a logical date for the Rapture, we understand that “no one knows the day, not even the angels.” While the Lord could appear on a date that seems to add up, there are verses that suggest He may not. So, “Keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come” (Matt. 24:42).
6. Also noteworthy is that 6461 divided by 7 is 923. “9/23,” or September 23, is the date associated with the autumnal equinox, and the Revelation 12 alignment that occurs annually in Virgo.
7. Asteroid Adam lingers in the belly of Virgo until December 5 (Kislev 4), 2024, when it conjuncts with one of the main stars in the constellation called “Heze” (zeta Virginis). Adam will not again enter the belly of Virgo until 2032.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: No one knows the day or hour of Jesus’ return (Matt. 24:36). However, a convergence of biblical signs and timelines suggests that it is near. To escape the judgment reserved for a God-rejecting world, one must know Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you have not yet done so, call on His name and believe that He is the Son of God who died for your sins and was raised from the dead, and you will be saved (Rom. 10:13).
